Todd & John's Tribute To
"The Old Neighborhood"
What Old Neighborhood? Simply the greatest
neighborhood in the world! The Arcadia/Temple City Area in the
San Gabriel Valley (The SGV) where we both grew up, located in Los Angeles County in beautiful Southern California.
This site is basically for us to enjoy, so we hope we don't bore
you with our nostalgic and sentimental values. That is, assuming anyone ever actually visits this site besides us! But who cares? The Old Neighborhood is simply the best! Many great memories, of which we share but a few at this site. So if you want to
wax nostalgic with us, enjoy your visit. The Old Neighborhood awaits...
"Such a nostalgia inevitably leads to the continual repetition of a limited number of gestures and patterns of behavior." - Mircea Eliade
This page has not seen a recent update due to John's recent health issues. After suffering an aortic aneurism and subsequent stroke on New Years Day, 2014, it has been a slow recovery with John still not able to move most of his body nor talk consistently. It had been a frustrating year with few improvements in his health, largely due to the poor care at "Ghetto Oaks" Care Facility in "Poormona." However, a recent visit by his neurologist has given us hope that John can see improvement, and steps are being taken to improve his quality of care and provide physical and speech therapy. Your prayers are needed for John to recover and hoping he can even visit his Old Neighborhood again some day. Healing prayers and wishes to John for a much better 2015!
Clearmans Galley (i.e. The Boat) serves the best food in the Old Neighborhood: http://clearmansgalley.com/
Most of our favorite toys as kids were made by Mego, and this site has them all: http://www.megomuseum.com/
A great site for old baseball stats, including those of some old-school favorites like the '79 Pirates and the '81 Dodgers!: http://www.baseball-reference.com//
